Sacred Heart Teacher Honored at 30 Leaders in their Thirties Luncheon

Chris Masterson, social studies teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School and chair of the Federation of Catholic Schools Professional Learning Teams received recognition as one of North County, Inc.'s "30 Leaders in their Thirties." Sacred Heart School Principal Lois Vollmer and Pastor Msgr. Mark Ullrich (pictured below), along with Dr. Karen Tichy (pictured at right) from the Archdiocese Catholic Education Center attended a special luncheon on September 27th at Norwood Hills Country Club honoring the young leaders.

Chris Masterson teaches social studies for grades six through eight at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Chris is the coordinator of professional learning teams for the North County Federation of Catholic Schools. Since 2008, Chris has lived in North County, and since 2009, he has taught United States history and world history and geography for Sacred Heart Catholic School. In 2013, Chris received a master’s degree for Leadership in Catholic Education from Saint Louis University. In his more than four years with Sacred Heart, he has served on a number of faculty committees including the principal’s advisory committee and school climate committee, and he was chair of the annual faculty-sponsored Sacred Heart Walk-A-Thon. During the 2010-2011 school year, Chris completed the Archdiocese of St. Louis Potential Leader program for future school leaders. Between 2011 and 2013, Chris served as a team leader for the Federation of Catholic Schools Professional Learning Teams. In 2012, he began serving as a member of the academic excellence committee for the Archdiocese of St. Louis Mission Advancement Initiative for Catholic Education. Beginning in July of 2013, Chris was appointed by the principals of the Federation of Catholic Schools to chair the professional learning teams. Chris is an active parishioner of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne. The North County Federation of Catholic Schools is a member of North County Inc.
