A little power outage can't stop our 8th grade students from celebrating Mass together! To kick off Catholic Schools week on Monday, Feb. 2. All of our NE Deanery Federation schools, along with neighbors in our region St. Ann-Normandy and Holy Trinity - St. Ann, came together for a special Mass celebrated by Bishop Edward Rice. Christ Light of the Nations School hosted the gathering, originally planned at Our Lady of the Rosary but moved at the last minute down the street to Holy Name of Jesus due to a power outage in the area.

Before Mass began, each school sent a representative to the altar to talk about some of the ways their school serves the community.

Bishop Rice reminded students that what makes their schools different from any other public school down the street is that all of the service and knowledge is rooted in our faith in Jesus Christ.

Musicians and a choir that included students from several schools prepared lively music for prayer and reflection during the Mass. Thanks to all who made this collaborative event possible!
