Celebrate Catholic Schools Week!

Our schools are gearing up to celebrate the nationwide Catholic Schools Week, starting with our Open House event at each school on Sunday, January 29th.  Please invite your friends and neighbors to explore Catholic Schools in North County with you!  Each school has a video to share, with students expressing why they love their school and inviting everyone to "come and explore" - you can view all the videos on our Federation of Catholic Schools YouTube Channel!

Spread the Word! Follow our Schools and Parishes on Facebook

Many of our Federation schools and parishes are becoming more active on social media, especially Facebook.  Please consider "Liking" these pages on Facebook and sharing their posts when something may be of interest to your network!

Think about why you choose (or chose if you have alumni) a Catholic school for your children. Share your thoughts on social media or simply in conversation with friends and family members.
And, most importantly, PRAY for our students, teachers, principals, pastors, parishioners and all who support Catholic education in our community.

Other North County Catholic institutions are also on Facebook - be sure to follow them, too!

    A Renaissance for Catholic Education
Change, Challenge, Choice - A Vision for the Future
This month, representatives from the Archdiocesan School Oversight Committee (SOC) have been presenting a proposed plan for Catholic elementary schools in North County. Maureen DePriest, Associate Superintendent for Elementary Education for the Archdiocese, Mike Duffy, Director of Archdiocesan Office of Internal Audit, along with Al Winkelmann, former associate superintendent, spent time at 8 parishes over a 2 1/2 week period, sharing lots of demographic and financial data that highlight the changes parishes and schools have experienced in our area in recent years. They also shared processes they have used to develop this recommended plan, and information about new models of governance for our schools that could help to address these changes and challenges.  The plan focuses on ensuring our excellent Catholic schools remain available, accessible and affordable through partnership between the parishes and archdiocese, quality leadership and investment. They invited questions both during the meeting and are open to continued feedback.  Below are links to the presentation slides and individual parish data that has been presented at each meeting.
