Pray for our Students Receiving the Sacraments!
Spring Brings Celebrations of First Communion and Confirmation
As we continue to celebrate the Easter season, our teachers and catechists in schools and PSR programs have been preparing students to receive First Holy Communion and Confirmation this Spring.  Please pray for each student and their family as they approach these important milestones in their faith journey.  Our Federation of Catholic Schools has provided opportunities for mini-retreats this year, to help in the preparation process.  Mrs. Sammi Grone, Coordinator of Religious Education for All Saints Academy, visited several schools throughout the year to lead the 2nd graders in stories, songs and crafts to help them reflect on First Reconciliation and First Communion.   You can read more about the First Communion retreats in this week's St. Louis Review.

Several schools also had the MORE Team from Marianist Retreat Center, led by Paul Masek, bring a mini-retreat for Confirmation students. We are looking forward to next year's North County Confirmation Rally, scheduled for October 15, 2021 at St. Norbert Parish.

Mrs. Addie Govero Named New North County Region Director

Govero_Addie10
The Archdiocese of St. Louis Office of Catholic Education and Formation recently announced that Mrs. Addie Govero, current principal at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School, will become the new North County Region Director in July.  Mrs. Govero is beginning her 20th year in Catholic education, serving as principal for the past 8 years at Blessed Teresa, and prior to that 11 years as a 3rd-8th grade teacher at All Saints School in St. Peters.  "I am very excited about my transition from principal to north county region director and looking forward to continuing the work of the Federation and growing Catholic education in north county," said Mrs. Govero.

Govero holds a Masters in Educational Leadership/Administration from Lindenwood University, where she also received her undergraduate degree in Education and specialist degree in Educational Leadership/Superintendent.  She is currently working toward a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Lindenwood.

Mr. Rick Danzeisen, who has served in this role since 2017, announced his retirement effective June 30, 2021.  The Federation of Catholic Schools is grateful to Mr. Danzeisen for his leadership and support these past years and wish him well as he spends more time with his family and grandchildren.

Diversity & Inclusion Consultant Role Continues for 2021-22
Alice_Prince
Dr. Alice Prince supports our principals and teachers as the Diversity & Inclusion Consultant for our Federation of Catholic Schools.  The Diversity Committee developed a plan and received a Beyond Sunday Transformational Innovation Grant from the Roman Catholic Foundation to initiate this role in the 2019-20 school year.  Through that initial grant and the work of Dr. Prince with our Diversity Committee, our report and plan was written and shared in the summer of 2020. Recognizing the importance and value of having the support of a consultant to work with principals and teachers, the Archdiocese of St. Louis Office of Catholic Education and Formation has provided continued funding this year (2020-21) and through the 2021-22 school year so that Dr. Prince can continue in this role.  Our Federation is grateful for this support from the Archdiocese as we move forward to ensure our schools continue to be places where all students have a sense of belonging as they grow in knowledge, faith and service to others.
