Celebrating Family, Faith and Fitness with CatholicFIT
From February to April, over 400 third and sixth grade students at 9 elementary schools in North County participated in CatholicFIT during their regular P.E. classes.  Teachers shared the "10 Pillars of Catholic Fitness" with weekly lessons that included tips and ideas for movingeating and acting with intention. Parents were invited to review weekly handouts with their children to reinforce the lessons at home.   Special thanks to all the P.E. teachers for leading the students in this program, bringing our Catholic identity into gym class in a tangible way.
CatholicFIT Finale
All families were invited to attend one or more evening "Faith and Fitness" workshops held in March and April.  We are grateful to SSM DePaul Health Center for partnering with our Federation to provide the CatholicFIT program.  They also hosted a kickoff event, on February 20th. The Family Fitness Challenge Finale Event was held on April 23 at Trinity Catholic High School.  Pictures and more information is available at

Northeast Deanery Children's Choir Featured in America Magazine
NE Deanery Children's Choir
The Northeast Deanery Children's Choir (pictured above signing at Christmas Eve Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Parish) was formed in 2014 but it's roots go back to when 4 of the parishes in the deanery combined schools to form John Paul II School. The objective is to provide an opportunity to children in 4th - 8th grades who do not otherwise have the opportunity to sing in their own parish or church choir. The NDCC is a traveling choir that sings for Mass once a month at four parishes who currently have participants; Holy Name of Jesus, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of the Rosary and Sacred Heart.

Our final Mass for this year will be the5:00 pm Mass at Holy Name of Jesus on May 7. Auditions for the Choir will take place at the beginning of the 2016 - 2017 school year. For information contact Theresa McWilliams

We continue to pray for all of our 2nd grade students who have been receiving their First Communion this Easter season, as well as the many middle school students who are receiving the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation.  May we all keep growing in our faith
and remain ALIVE IN CHRIST!

Spread the Word! Our Schools are
Enrolling for 2016-17!

Our schools continue to enroll new students for the 2016-17 school year. How can YOU help spread the good news and invite other families in North County to check out their neighborhood Catholic school?  Here are a few simple ideas to get you started:

  • "Like," "Follow," and "Share" your school and/or parish Facebook page and Twitter account.
  • is an easy-to-remember website address that will link people to a listing of all eight schools with a map of locations. The Federation also has a Facebook page and Twitter profile for you to follow.
  • Think about why you choose (or chose if you have alumni) a Catholic school for your children. Share your thoughts on social media or simply in conversation with friends and family members.
  • And, most importantly, PRAY for our students, teachers, principals, pastors, parishioners and all who support Catholic education in our community.
